Tips for Fun in the Sun

Spring 2015

During your vacation to the Sunshine state it’s an easy guess that much of your time will be spent outdoors enjoying the world-class attractions. With so many things to do it’s easy to forget to take the necessary safety precautions to protect the largest organ of the human body, the skin.

It is not uncommon for Orlando to experience summer heat year-round. The beautiful weather entices many travelers to the beach looking to enjoy the sun and the surf. Protecting yourself from the blistering heat of the sun is the smart thing to do.

Sunburn cases are seen daily during the summer months, so keep your skin protected with a good quality SPF sunscreen. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and the number that follows refers to the amount of time you are able to stay exposed to the sun without getting burned. The higher the number, the more the harmful rays are blocked out.

Staying hydrated at all times is essential since humidity pulls moisture from your skin even when you’re not sweating. We recommend you drink 16-20 ounces of water, 30 minutes before any outdoor activity and 6-12 ounces, every 30 minutes that you remain outdoors. A refillable BPA free water bottle will save your budget too!
