Celebrating Our Nation's Heroes

The 2024 Military Weekend was truly unforgettable! With one thousand Active, Veteran, and Gold Star military families, an epic silent disco, a brisk 5K, and countless smiles shared during Family Field Day, it was a heartfelt celebration of our nation’s heroes.

Hosted by Westgate Resorts and Westgate Foundation, this highly anticipated weekend was proudly presented by Interval International and SeaWorld^® Orlando. The holiday spirit was alive at Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort as military families checked in—greeted by Santa Claus himself!

Friday’s Military Resource Fair was the largest yet, featuring over 23 incredible partners providing vital services and programs to the military community. The day ended on a high note with the “not-so-silent” silent disco, where guests sang and danced the night away.

Saturday was action-packed from sunrise to sunset! Runners kicked off the day with the Red, White, and Blue 5K, followed by games and music at Family Field Day. Families were amazed by Santa’s Little Flippers Acrobatic Variety Show and the strolling magic of Las Vegas Headlining Magician Jen Kramer. Westgate Resorts' own Wes T. Gator even met his new friend from Gatorland, creating a “gatoriffic” moment for all.

A standout and crowd favorite every year was the annual historic tank demonstration, offering a thrilling look back at history. This year was particularly memorable as we paid special tribute to Pearl Harbor Day, honoring the sacrifices of our fallen military heroes.

The weekend also celebrated giving back. Westgate Foundation proudly awarded $55,000 in grants to six military nonprofits, including American Gold Star Mothers, Camaraderie Foundation, McCormick Research Institute, Soldier’s Angels, Unbroken Spirit and University of Central Florida.

The festivities concluded with a dynamic performance by the Paradigm Party Band, followed by a dazzling fireworks display—a perfect finale to a weekend of gratitude and celebration.
